Nuts! is a feature length documentary about Dr.\nJohn Romulus Brinkley\, an eccentric genius who built an empire in\nDepression-era America with a goat testicl e impotence cure and a million\nwatt radio station. Using animated reenact ments\, interviews\, archival\nfootage\, and a hilariously unreliable narr ator\, Nuts! traces\nBrinkley’s rise from poverty and obscurit y to the heights of celebrity\,\nwealth and influence in Depression-era Am erica.
Along the way\, he\ntransplants tens of thousands of goat te sticles\; amasses an enormous\nfortune\; is (sort of) elected Governor of Kansas\; builds the world’s\nmost powerful radio station\; invents junk mail\, the infomercial\, the\nsound-truck and Border Radio\; hosts some e pic parties\; and annoys the heck\nout of the establishment\, until finall y his audacious actions force the\nfederal government to create regulation s to stop him. How he does it\, and\nwhat happens when it all comes crashi ng down\, is the story\nof Nuts!
