Living through the Covid-19 pande mic\,\nAmericans developed a new relationship to the night sky\, looking t o the\nstars for connection at a time of isolation. Located in rural Idaho \, the\nnumber one state per capita for UFO sightings\, SVMoA sits at the edge of\nthe 1\,416 square-mile Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve. Motivated by this\ngeography and by local lore surrounding the possibility of extrat errestrial\nlife\, SVMoA’s fall exhibition considers our human experienc e of UFOs and\nthe extraterrestrial. Rather than ask what those who report UFO sightings\nhave actually seen\, the exhibition asks why we look to th e night skies for\nsigns of life\, and how we experience phenomena we can ’t explain.\nFeaturing commissioned projects by artists Deb Sokolow and Cable Griffith\nalongside work by Karla Knight\, Robyn O’Neil\, Ionel Ta lpazan\, Esther\nPearl Watson\, and Timothy Wyllie.
