ART HISTORY LECTURE: What do you know about Mosaics?

Italian mosaic artist and instructor Carolina Zanelli will guide us through the history of mosaics, from ancient Rome to the contemporary art world. Zanelli will share slides and her own experience in mosaic.

About the Instructor

A native of Udine, Italy, Zanelli teaches regularly at the Chicago Mosaic School. She was just finishing her studies in cello performance when life redirected her to the School of Mosaicists of Friuli (just north of Venice). She graduated in 1995 and is an instructor there. Carolina has taught the art of mosaics as well as the history of mosaics since 2000. Her work has been featured in Eventi and Vanity Fair magazines and in Sonia King’s 2003 book Mosaic.
