Enjoy a glass of wine as you tour the exhibition with The Museum’s curators.
Guest-curated by artists Peter de Lory and Jim Romberg, Clay, Silver, Ink takes a look back at the Sun Valley Center’s early years through artwork made by some of the many artists who taught here in the 1970s and 1980s. When the Sun Valley Center for the Arts launched in 1971, it started as a place for classes taught by nationally and internationally known instructors across a range of artistic disciplines, with a focus on ceramics, photography and printmaking. The exhibition reflects on the role the Sun Valley Center played in the lives of dozens of artists and traces the history of the organization, from a teaching institution to an accredited museum.
This event takes place Thu, July 8, from 4:30–5:20pm.
FREE, pre-registration required. Each session has limited space.
Walk-in visitors are always welcome, but if you’d like to learn more about the exhibition, SVMoA’s curatorial staff offer free exhibition tours to families and small groups. Please contact The Museum to schedule your tour.
