This two-day mosaic class is offered to beginners who want to learn about the different techniques, tools and materials used in mosaic art. Students will explore cutting each piece and fixing it into the support according to the traditional technique. Students will work from a few suggested designs and creatively arrange shapes and colors for a finished mosaic piece. 20 years and older, beginners welcome.

About the Instructor
A native of Udine, Italy, Zanelli teaches regularly at the Chicago Mosaic School. She was just finishing her studies in cello performance when life redirected her to the School of Mosaicists of Friuli (just north of Venice). She graduated in 1995 and is an instructor there. Carolina has taught the art of mosaics as well as the history of mosaics since 2000. Her work has been featured in Eventi and Vanity Fair magazines and in Sonia King’s 2003 book Mosaic.
