Join artist Marianna Jimenez Edwards for a bilingual community workshop that invites participants of all ages to celebrate loved ones through collage. Using family photographs (or photocopies of photographs), assorted papers, printed images, and other materials, participants will create collages celebrating family and friends for inclusion in a community Day of the Dead altar. Artist Marianna Jimenez Edwards will guide participants in making their collages and provide an introduction to the symbolism and meaning behind Día de los Muertos.
Artist Marianna Jimenez Edwards received her BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and currently teaches high school art in Boise. Through years of visits to family in Mexico, Edwards has developed a deep knowledge of the traditions associated with Día de los Muertos.
Families and adults; no prior experience required.
The event takes place from 10-11:30 AM.
