We’re closing the street and having a party!
Join us for our annual celebration of summer and art from 5–7:30pm. We will host the opening of our summer exhibition Mending, in addition we’ll have live music, drinks, food trucks, and arts and crafts for everyone in the community to enjoy.
We're thrilled to welcome artist, singer, and electronic music composer Elisa Harkins (b. 1978, Cherokee, Muscogee) for a live gallery performance at 5:30pm followed by a 7pm outdoor performance. A DJ set will kick off the evening and finish out the night!
Harkins’s work explores the body, Indigenous music, and language revitalization. Her performances and exhibitions have been featured at major venues including Crystal Bridges, The Getty, MoMA, and the Spoleto Festival. She is a recipient of awards from Creative Capital, the Harpo Foundation, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, and the Mid-America Arts Alliance. An enrolled member of the Muscogee Nation, Harkins lives and works on the Muscogee Reservation and serves as a visiting lecturer, advancing dialogue around Indigenous music and art.
