Craft Series Workshops: Book Art Series: Let's Make Accordion Books

with Angela Batchelor

Sábado, Febrero 8, 2020 - 10:00 AM

Accordion books are simple and versatile, providing endless opportunities for artists and crafters. In this 2-day workshop students will learn a variety of different accordion-based structures that includes the use of hard and soft covers. No bookmaking experience is necessary as we will cover basic bookbinding techniques such as finding paper grain, folding paper, joining paper and covering boards. Students will be provided with clear instruction and handouts. This is a great class if you are new to bookmaking!

Angela Batchelor currently lives in Twin Falls, Idaho with her husband and two sons where she is an Assistant Professor of Art at the College of Southern Idaho. Her background is in painting and printmaking, but she fell in love with calligraphy, paper and book arts while teaching in Portland, Oregon for eight years. Angela’s artwork meanders between expressive mark-making and mixed media pieces to ones that focus on religious, social and scientific themes. Her works have been featured in national and international exhibitions.

This two-day workshop takes place Sat & Sun, Feb 8 & 9, from 10am-3pm at the Hailey Classroom.

2019-2020 Workshops are generously supported by Heather Horton and Deida Runswick
